New Decade... New Beginnings

Posted by Gemma Louise Johnson on February 6, 2020 at 9:25 AM Comments comments (8)
Well here we are already in February. It's 2020, an end of a decade and what a decade it has been. We have achieved so much.... We have our own songs to be proud of... we have had our songs played on radio stations across the country, we have been a regular contender for songwriting competitions and Charities such as Lifeblood - Thrombosis Charity and World Child Cancer have raised money by us selling copies of our CDs for them. We have had so much fun performing to hundreds of people across the UK and we have met so many wonderful people that even some have kept in touch with us to this day, which is lovely. Thank you to every single one of you that has booked us for the last 14 years. We cannot thank you enough for the support you have given us whilst at our shows and for making us feel so welcome. It has taken a while to make this decision but we feel that to enable us to achieve our musical goals, it is something we feel we must do. We will no longer be running a business however we have so many opportunities coming up that we are not ending our music but simply moving forward. We will continue to write songs and do studio work (although we have said this for some time) by doing this we will have the chance to do more than we initially intended to do. We will continue to make videos for our fans to see from the UK to across the pond. This doesn't change at all. We have a lot of ideas for this and it is something we both enjoy. We will continue to do Charity work and any performances we do will be for Charity only (which is something we are both passionate about). And lastly we will always appreciate the love and support that we continue to receive from each and every one of you. We hope you understand our decision and we would love for you to move forward with us. Best Wishes, Gemma and Alan

Happy New Year to both our old and new clients and also to all of our online supporters! :)

Well we've had a really busy 2015 with bookings and we've met some lovely people along the way which we know we will see again this year. The fundraising that we continue to do for the amazing charity World Child Cancer has now raised a fantastic £445 for them so far. We're so overwhelmed by the response and we want to thank each and every one of you for your valued support. You are making a real difference to those childrens' lives.

We start 2016 with great prospects as Alan has been very busy writing some new songs which we are going down to London very soon to record in the studio. Watch this space!

Can't wait to share these with you as well as many other exciting projects that we have going on this year.

Talk to you all soon

Love Gemma :) xxx

World Child Cancer Charity Single "Ilaria's Song"

Posted by Gemma Louise Johnson on June 24, 2015 at 2:00 PM Comments comments (5)

"Ilaria's Song" (described as a ballad with a modern twist), is about a little girl in America called Ilaria who had a tumour on her chest but with treatment she thankfully survived. The reason we knew about this was because we know her grandparents who live here in the UK. It inspired Alan to write a song called "Ilaria's Song" as we wanted to use this as a way of raising awareness and money to help other children going through the same illness. The charity we chose is called World Child Cancer Foundation based in London UK and they provide amazing support to those in need.

Alan says: "Ilaria is an inspiration to so many other children going through this and we hope that this song will give every child the support they need".

We have had 500 copies produced professionally and we are selling them for £3 each plus postage and packaging.

We have had BBC UK Radio airplay already with the song alongside other supporting countries, which has been great publicity for the charity as we have already raised £145 so far. Thank you to everyone who has donated and who keep on donating. You really are making a difference as just £50 provides Chemotherapy for one child so we have already helped two children so far.

Gemma says: "We just want to raise as much money as we can for such a great cause".

If you would like to purchase the CD, just click on the "CD Singles" Tab on this website and you can purchase via GBP, US Dollars or Euros depending on where you live.

The song is now available for download on iTunes and Amazon. Thank you so much for your support!

Thankyou for your support!

We would like to say a BIG thankyou to everyone whom has supported our Thrombosis Charity both here in the UK and Overseas. We have decided to close the fundraising page after raising a grand total of £677 for Lifeblood. The reason why we chose this Charity was because my mum had three blood clots on her brain but thankfully she has now been cured. This worthwhile Charity has not only supported my family during the time of my mums' illness, but also others in need of help coming to terms with their illness. May we also mention a special thankyou to Annya for all her help and may God Bless you always. Lots of Love, Gemma and family x x x

We are delighted to announce that our second single "Seasonal Wishes" has just made the semi-finals in the UK Songwriting Contest 2009 in London out of over 6000 entries. We have been so busy this year with our performances whilst raising awareness for Deep Vein Thrombosis. We have so far with the kind donations of the general public purchasing our Charity Single "Our Special Day (From Me To You)" along with raffles and tombolas, raised an astonishing £606 within five months!!! Our story was covered in our local newspaper and can be read on our Photo Gallery page. We are so grateful to everyone who has supported us in making this happen and we will continue to raise as much money as we can for Lifeblood - Thrombosis Charity. Thank you so much!!

There is a new song in the making and are preparing to record some more videos.

Seasonal Wishes

Our Christmas song "Seasonal Wishes" was written by Alan (my Dad). Our supporters, family and friends inspired him to write this song for the holiday season.

Since the recording in London, the song has not only been played on our local radio stations in Lincolnshire but it has also been played on radio stations abroad. Every comment and message we receive is always appreciated and so long as everyone is enjoying our music that's all that matters to us.

Thankyou so much for all of your kindness and support.

God Bless,

Love and Best Wishes,

Gemma and family

UK Songwriting Contest Results 2007

Posted by Gemma on September 20, 2007 at 9:51 AM Comments comments (1)

I'd just like to update everyone on our current progress. I've just recently moved house and areas to Lincolnshire, UK and have just received the results of the UK Songwriting Contest 2007. Out of over 5000 entries, "Our Special Day (From Me To You)" (both the full arrangement and the piano/vocal versions) reached the semi-finals in the Jazz/ Blues category.

We are all absolutely thrilled with the result and my dad has many more plans for the song as well as writing more material.

We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the help, support, comments and messages that we receive. We really appreciate it.

God bless each and every one of you.

Love always,

Gemma and family
